I am a writer-journalist, focused on telling compassionate stories that spark social change and give voice to people without one. My forms of storytelling have morphed through the years: from reporting about social issues on the TV news – to traveling into Latin American villages on horseback to collect stories for a global nonprofit; from teaching undergrads at St. Michael’s College how to cover underserved communities for digital media – to advocating for the economic empowerment of women and girls in Vermont. In 2010, I co-founded a program for Vermont’s incarcerated women called writing inside VT. A book of the women’s poetry and prose entitled – Hear Me, See Me – was published in 2013.
